Puerto Barú’s US$250–260 Million Port Project Could Strengthen Western Panama’s Tourism Links

On 27 October, Newsroom Panama reported that the Supreme Court upheld the environmental impact assessment for the proposed Puerto Barú port in Chiriquí, a private project estimated at US$250–260 million. The port is planned as a logistics, agribusiness and tourism gateway for western Panama, although the reported estimate covers the whole port project rather than a separate hotel or tourism contract; hotels, travel operators and destination managers can explore visitor-demand forecasting, tourism analytics and operational planning, while HPC can support data-driven hospitality analysis.
